    Am I the only person on the face of the earth that can't make creme brulee to save my life? I follow a recipe precisely. The mixture is *perfectly smooth* when pouring into the ramekins. 30 minutes later, I have cream soup with a layer of foamy cooked egg on top. I've tried baking at 325, 300, and even 250. Same result. Every time. Custard that's 100% liquid with a layer of fucking scrambled eggs on top. I just don't get it 😒

    Reminds me of my Tutu's Kailua Pork. Except we just use liquid smoke and Hawaiian sea salt as the marinade. Banana leaves and a slow cooker for 12 hours. Smells as good as it looks and has the same spoon ability.

    this is the first time I hear of buttered noodles and I really can't imagine that it tastes good. like how? butter has basically no taste and is just greasy. why would you put that on noodles? BUT maybe I will try it one day when I'm too lazy to make an actual sauce and we have no cheese at home

    Everything worked perfectly for me except the baking time. After baking for 50 minutes at 350 degrees, there was still quite a bit of wetness on the inside. It took about 20 more minutes to fully bake, and I covered the cake with foil for that time so the upper streusel wouldn't burn.

    Use egg noodles and cook in just enough chicken stock to leave them moist when fully cooked (start with less stock than needed, then add small quantities as needed until noodles are done). Then add butter to emulsify the starchy stock...YUM!

    😂 Dude, you could just have covered it with a purple colored cream icing to cover the brown color. This cake is a Filipino dessert. That’s what we would do. Or, you can cover the cake with white icing and then sprinkle a crumpled cake dust to add color on top. Thanks for covering it though. I think everyone should know how delicious this cake is. We Filipinos will not care how it looks as long as it tastes the way it should taste. This is my childhood favorite. 🇵🇭🇺🇸
